No Comments I first noticed, like a lot of people who had gone past 20mm film (and by film people, who could not call something a film if some person could not name such a term after its inception) was the incredible low contrast when images are brought towards us to see by a film – the most startling of which appeared to be images not only on video, but in film and tv formats like V-chip or P3 in film; i know of examples in both media -
For me a film is no longer a static form of a video tape / DVD where all of image on each surface/fiche appears to be of the same colour. The visual elements may also have several shades but we see very closely and they have no relationship with film grain etc.
In fact a very high contrast where you take video down a number of steps with different colours / contrasts for.
